This McPherson MG3.5XP comes with an Engelmann spruce top and flame Black Acacia. Engelmann spruce has a lush bell-like tone with strong overtones. It is therefore a good choice for players who require a richer and more complex tone than the typical sitka spruce top. Engelmann spruce pairs well with Black Acacia hich produces a deep woody tone, to give a sound that is vibrant and full of character. Most will find the tonal and visual characteristics of Acacia similar to its close cousin, the Hawaiian Koa.

Like all McPherson guitars, the guitar comes with a proprietary offset soundhole and a cantilevered neck which enhances the tone of the guitar by allowing the top of the guitar to vibrate freely. Within the soundhole, a series of braces are designed to arch just under the guitar topwood with minimal contact, allowing tonal vibrations to be maximized while providing for structural strength. This consigned guitar is in excellent condition as is close to new. It has aged nicely and sounds bell-like and woody. The 3.5" body depth gives it a delicate response and is complemented by onboard LR Baggs electronics which have been specially tweaked by McPherson for a stage worthy tone.

The guitar has been priced attractively by the consignee for a cash sale. With new McPherson guitars being priced at USD$8900 for the most basic models, this guitar will certainly hold its value well in time.
