FURCH RED PLUS GC MASTERGRADE SITKA SPRUCE INDIAN ROSEWOOD
Built with only master grade tone woods and the finest components, the RED Series is Furch’s top line solid-wood guitar. The RED Plus model brings the aesthetics a leap forward by blending the natural beauty of wood grains with modern design. A highly figured Central American ziricote bridge, fingerboard, and headstock overlay marks the guitar while Hawaiian koa is boldly featured over the rosette, fingerboard inlays and binding.
Both the soundboard and back plate of every RED series guitar is tuned using their proprietary voicing process. This results in a tone that is crystalline clear, harmonically rich and balanced sound across the entire tonal spectrum. The attention put into tuning the back plate of every RED series guitar adds a whole new level of tonal dynamics to this delightful build.
The guitar is also finished with an ultra thin layer of highly resistant lacquer which provides for excellent protection and shine. Applying lacquer is a very time consuming process but it allows a guitar to “breath”. The instrument projects better and the finish does not bubble in time like many UV-cured polyurethane finished guitars.
This model is built with master grade tone woods often found only on boutique guitars. Sitka spruce gives the guitar a powerful, direct tone that is capable of retaining its clarity even when played aggressively. It exhibits a wide dynamic response and a robust, meaty tone. On the back and sides, East Indian rosewood complements with a strong complex bottom end and imparts an overall warmth to the tone of the guitar.
We personally feel that in terms of tone, appointments and the quality of build for the price offered, Furch outperforms all mainstream brands in the market. We find this model very fairly priced with many more expensive market contenders often offering only a fraction of the quality of materials used.
We wholeheartedly recommend the Red Series any guitarist with a generous budget but do not wish to stretch it past a price point associated with smaller-scale boutique builds.
