MARTIN D-45GE ADIRONDACK BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD (SOLD)
There are few guitars in the world more well regarded than the Martin D-45, the ultimate of the famed Martin pre-war guitars. Martin made only nine D-45 guitars in 1937, 91 in total pre-war, and after 1942 they made no other D-45 guitars until 1968.
What makes this guitar very special is that every detail is true to the famed prewar 1937 D-45 with the exception of an improved adjustable truss rod and a much more playable “modified V-shaped” neck. It boast all the best that C.F. Martin and Co. had to offer from the finest Brazilian rosewood to tasteful abalone appointments and period correct details throughout the guitar.
This guitar sounds acoustically rich and huge thanks to the perfect combination of tonewoods. Often regarded as the holy grail of tone woods, the tone coming from the marriage of Adirondack spruce and Brazilian rosewood on this guitar certainly does not disappoint. The guitar is extremely musical and responsive and exhibits exceptional clarity and depth in every note.
This Brazilian and Adirondack instrument is also exquisitely beautiful. Only 108 of these beauties were made in 2003 and you will be hard pressed to find one in immaculate condition today. Owned by a collector, this guitar has barely been played and we certainly expect it to sound even more amazing in time to come. This is a keeper and certainly a investment worthy instrument in every way.
