The Martin Dreadnought Junior surprised us in many ways. From playing comfort, to richness in tone and compactness, you will be hard pressed to find a similar quality build at this price point.
Despite it’s compact size, the guitar gives a powerful tone thanks to solid tonewoods usually absent in guitars at this price level. Built with solid sapele and topped with solid sitka spruce, this guitar lends a rich and woody Martin tone framed arounbd a bright and robust sound that works well with most playing styles. A Fishman Sonitone pickup system completes the package with volume and tone controls in the soundhole for easy access (Also available without electronics).
We would personally recommend a bone saddle for an even bigger tone and more complex harmonics (which you can choose as an upgrade) but we are certainly impressed with the original package and will certainly recommend this model for an investment under a grand. All our Martin Juniors also come strung with premium Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings for a richer and longer lasting tone.
