Among Taylor’s rosewood/spruce guitars, their special edition Brazilian builds have always projected an aura of sophistication. Pieces from year 2000 and earlier often showcase an unparalleled richness in tone made only possible with the passing of time. These pieces were built with some of the finest woods then and are now found only on premium custom orders today.
This particular 710 is a dreadnought built with a silky engelmann spruce and a lovely 3-pc Brazilian rosewood back. The engelmann spruce top provides for a bell-like chime with plenty of overtones and pairs exceptionally well with Brazilian rosewood, the holy grail of tonewoods. Brazilian rosewood is highly sought after for its broad range of dynamic overtones and resonance.
Aesthetically, the engelmann spruce has aged to reflect a gorgeous golden hue while streaks of red and brown can be observed on the aged Brazilian rosewood. The guitar is anointed with pearl on its rosette and fingerboard and tastefully framed in black binding.
This pre-owned guitar has aged very well and sounds absolutely delightful. It has been kept in amazing condition and is as good as new.
