This stunning McPherson 4.5XP was custom ordered directly from McPherson and comes with master grade Adirondack spruce top and master grade Madagascar rosewood back and sides. The Adirondack top showcases exceptionally even grains and the Madagascar rosewood back carries pleasing ink lines with a gradient of natural wood hues in red and brown.
Like all McPherson guitars, this guitar comes with a proprietary offset sound hole and a cantilevered neck which enhances the tone of the guitar by allowing the top of the guitar to vibrate freely. Within the sound hole, a series of braces are designed to arch just under the guitar top wood with minimal contact, allowing tonal vibrations to be maximized while providing for structural strength.
What makes this guitar exceptional apart from its master grade woods is its tone. This guitar sounds rich and articulate with a very even response across the entire tonal register. The bass is deep and lush while the mids and highs are sweet and rich in overtones due to the great combination of tonewoods. With amazing depth and clarity, this guitar is easily on par with the other Brazilian rosewood McPherson guitars in the store.
This consigned guitar was owned by a collector and is essentially in brand new condition with zero play wear. With a new piece in non-master grade woods being listed at USD$14,000 these days and annual production numbers being highly limited, we are certain this guitar will hold its value very well in time. Its tone is expected to flourish and will certainly sound even more delightful in time.
