This McPherson 4.5XP comes with a tight-grained adirondack spruce top and a visually pleasing set of Madagascar rosewood which showcases stunning ink lines and natural wood hues.
This particular guitar has aged well and is as lush sounding as a McPherson Brazilian rosewood guitar we had recently. The guitar exhibits generous headroom and maintains clarity over a wide tonal register with plenty of harmonics and overtones.
Like all McPherson guitars, this guitar comes with a proprietary offset soundhole and a cantilevered neck which enhances the tone of the guitar by allowing the top of the guitar to vibrate freely. Within the soundhole, a series of braces are designed to arch just under the guitar topwood with minimal contact, allowing tonal vibrations to be maximized while providing for structural strength.
This consigned guitar has been well cared for by its owner and is as good as new. With new pieces being listed at USD$14,000 these days and production numbers being limited, we are certain this guitar will hold its value very well in time.
